The European research project SinFonia is working on a new and more sustainable method to produce bioplast with fluoride, to accommodate the problems with public health and environment caused by microparticles from materials produced with fluoride, which are occurring more and more. Materials containing fluoride are widely used in a variety of products which many use in their everyday: Non-stick pans, rainclothes, electronics, medicine, food packaging and much more.

Citizens contribute to research

The Danish Board of Technology is facilitating an online workshop designed to prepare citizens for debating and sharing their opinions and thoughts on the potential and challenges of the technology (materials with fluoride). The workshop prepares the citizens by teaching them about the applications of fluoride as well as presenting different perspectives of the problem at hand. This  gives the group of researchers the opportunity to gain insight into the publics opinions and thoughts, and decide which important considerations the citizens need them to make.

The Danish Board of Technology is facilitating the citizens engagement

It is the Danish Board of Technology’s task to facilitate an online workshop where a group of citizens are shown three informative films. We wish to gather a broadly representative group of citizens. The workshop will be online which presents the advantage of getting a broad geographic representation of citizens and that the current societal state of society that is affected by covid-19 won’t have a significant impact on the process. The citizens will receive intro material in advance and they will also fill out short anonymous questionnaires as a part of the workshop.

At the workshop the participants will be divided into smaller groups where they will watch the videos together and discuss they learned.
